Back to MKE

We had a late start to the day. It was hard for me to pack up and leave. On our way out of town I realized we hadn't gone to the cemetery so we had to turn around and go back. In Indiana, the sky started turning really dark and almost green. Then we were in the middle of a huge downpour and had to go slow because we could hardly see. Finally we arrived at Grandpas and headed to Panera for lunch. We tried to get together with Lauren, but she wasn't feeling well.

I made yet another stop at Woodman's, but this time mostly to return something and I did have a few last minute things to grab. After that, we went to Aunt Ruth's to help them with their new phone. We visited a little bit and made plans to return on Thursday for a final visit.

For dinner Grandpa had spaghetti in the crockpot. Since we had arrived so late, we had a really late lunch. When we returned from Ruth's, we played our Scrabble game (I think I won) before dinner. We had our late dinner and visited in the evening. I went with mom to walk Toby at night.

Last day at 1373 :(

It was a bittersweet day knowing it was my last day at home, home for at least a year.

We went to deliver and drop off the bread in Berrien Springs and then headed back to Saint Joe to Silver Beach Pizza for lunch. Mom and I got the veggie pizza. Did not disappoint. Maybe I could convince them to open a pizza restaurant in Korea... After lunch Mom and I walked around downtown and poked in a few of the shops. We got groceries for dinner and then headed home to Toba.

For dinner we had (Stouffers) lasagna and salad. Delicious! I've only gone to one place that has good lasagna in Korea, so it was a really nice treat. After dinner, Sarah came and picked me up. We had to stop by Best Buy to drop off a work computer for Garrett. In the end, Garrett had to come to BB anyway and pick out a new laptop. Our computer sales guy turned out to be a guy that Sarah and I went to high school with. She and I also walked around the store and some guy from DirecTV who must be the sales rep in BB talked with us and was really funny. Sarah and I went to DQ and sat outside and chatted. It was really good. We were able to meet 4 times while I was home and it was so great to see her and catch up and have some girl talk. After ice cream, we went to the Rabbers' house and I got to see Mr. and Mrs. We chatted and caught up before I went home.

It was hard going to bed, my last night in my bed and my last night to cuddle with my pup all night.

Brunch, Baking and Beach

Martin left and we sent him off. It was sad to see him go. After he left we relaxed a little bit and gave Toby a walk before heading to Harbert to Luisa's for brunch. It was quite a long wait, but that gave us time to look at the menu. Mom ordered a Dutch apple pancake and I got a carrot cake waffle sandwich. We shared our food and both were really tasty.

After brunch we came home and cleaned out the basement a bit. I made magic bars-second dessert in 2 weeks! We went to 6pm mass and I got to see the Annex all renovated. I was planning on meeting Kat in the evening after church and I ran into her at mass. I also got to talk to the Scudders. Mom and I came home and had the leftover casserole for dinner. Then I went to go meet Kat downtown. We took a walk along the bluff then down to the beach and pier before turning around. She went on to get drinks with a friend but I went to Panera to meet Mom and help with the bread donations. We sat and waited until close and after for the bread. At home we took Toby for a walk before diving in to divide the breads.

Last Day with Mart and Baguette!

Today was a pretty relaxing day. It's just nice to be at home and relax.

We went to Baguette for lunch and brought it home. This sandwich is something I could probably eat once a week and not get tired of it. The rest of the afternoon we relaxed. My favorite thing to do is cuddle with Toby. For dinner I made a Mexican casserole and it was really good. I wish I could make it in Korea but I would need sour cream and I haven't been able to find any around me and I've already had one disaster with "plain" yogurt I don't need to ruin another dish!

In the evening we took Toby for a walk and it was nice to see the stars and have a nice breeze. I think it maybe Thursday or Friday night when we walked Toby, but I saw a shooting star.

Grilling Out

Mom and Martin went for a bike ride and I was free to sleep in and cuddle with my puppy love. I also got to talk with Jacob. We went to Sandra Kays for lunch which was nice. It reminded me of all the times we spent there and when my Dad would take me there for lunch when I was in 5th grade. I drooled over the dessert case, but had to pick only one dessert. I ended up getting a peach cream puff to split with Mom and Martin. It was really good-man I so wanted one of everything in the dessert case!

After lunch we came home and relaxed. Mom made fresh pesto and Martin and I helped. Then we started prepping for dinner. Sarah and Mike came a little after 7 and mom grilled the chicken. I made a pesto pasta with veggies as a side. For dessert we had a raspberry creme pie from Bit o Swiss bakery. Yum, yum, yum! Sarah, Mike and I chatted after dinner. We made tentative plans for their trip to Korea in the next year. I can't wait to see them here!

Brunch and Tosis

Sarah came over for brunch. Mom made a french toast casserole thing and it was really good. We ate outside on the patio and that was so nice. The rest of the afternoon was relaxing. Martin and I finished the puzzle. I had to go to the dentist in the afternoon.

For dinner we went to Tosi's. Even with our reservation we had to wait a little bit, but it was worth the wait. I got gnocchi with veggies and it was delicious. When we were driving home, I noticed that the sun was setting still so we went to Glenlord Beach and watched it set a little. We returned home and watched The Holiday and had ice cream bars.

Beach, Martin and Amanda

We had a short morning with coffee and yogurt before taking off back home.

First stop was Stay and Obey to get Toby. They had to get all of the other daycare dogs outside before he could come out. When he saw me he flew across the big room. He was so happy and excited we were coming to pick him up. Then we went to Mr. Gyros to bring sandwiches home.

Around 2, Sarah came to get me and we went to Silver Beach. It was nice to lay in the sand and put our feet in the water. We took a short walk before heading home. I was so happy to see Sarah again. At home I started making pizza dough. While doing that Martin arrived. And a few seconds after he arrived, Amanda and Sasha arrived too. We put the dogs outside and they ran and played. Sasha and Toby hadn't seen each other since maybe January. Amanda and I worked on dinner (spaghetti braid) and Mom and Martin got a few groceries for brunch.

The braid turned out delicious! After dinner Amanda and I chatted and worked on a puzzle Mom was working on. It was so good to see her again too. She had to leave and Martin and Mom were still out walking so we hopped in her car and drove down the street to find them. Toby couldn't believe his girlfriend was driving down his street while he was on his walk.
