................Taking Flight...............: Friday the 13th!

Even though it was Friday the 13th, nothing bad happened....

My 6th graders did okay, even the last class. They normally are a bit crazy because it's the last class of the day and it's Friday.

This evening our mentoring program had our "farewell dinner". I went to go meet my new volunteer translator at the station a little bit early. I guess my last one dropped out because she lives and works a bit far from where we usually meet and it was difficult for her to arrange her schedule to participate in things. My new volunteer's name is Eunha and she is one year older than me. She lived in the US and Canada for 10 years. I like her a lot; she's very sweet and seems really interested in participating with the program and trying to get to know Yoon Ju and her family. Anyway, we chatted for a little bit and then met with everyone else and walked to the restaurant.

Almost everyone arrived at the restaurant and we sat down and waited for the rest of the families to come. Our family was running late and after a brief welcome, Eric told us we could all get started on food. There was a buffet and then also we had Shabu Shabu (which is a hot pot soup you cook in front of you). Not too long after we started eating, my family arrived and I helped Yoon Ju get her food. We ate and had another speech from Eric and President Jung. Then we visited a bit and took off.
